ARBUTUS GROVE COTTAGE is located at Sticks and Stones Country Cottages and is a child and pet friendly ‘home away from home’. We provide a relaxing retreat for our guests after a day spent, boating, mopeding, biking, hiking or beachcombing.
Two bikes are available for your pleasure. Start up the BBQ and kick back in a hammock and
watch the hummingbirds hover above the lavender while nuthatches flit from
branch to branch high above in the arbutus trees.
For those that can’t live without it…

Arbutus Grove Cottage is a welcoming retreat in the Spring/Summer or Fall/Winter periods.
It is a cozy cottage located in a grove of towering arbutus trees, with easy access to three unique sandstone beaches and several hiking and biking trails.
Arbutus Grove Cottage is a mere five (5) minute drive from the BC Ferry Terminal at Sturdies Bay and a short distance from Atrevida Restaurant or the Woodstone Inn for those wishing to celebrate at one of these fine quality eating establishments. Casual dining is found at The Market, Scoops, Trincomali Bakery, Max and Moritz, Grand Central or the Hummingbird Pub. If you wish to explore our island by land or by water, Gulf Island Kayaks & Galiano Boat & Moped Rentals are located at Montague Marina..

Galiano Island has much to offer our visitors. Spend an afternoon visiting the many Artisans that make Galiano their home or rent a boat or a kayak and explore the islands many bays, beaches and sea caves…..and hope to be lucky enough to see the resident pod of Orcas or set your crab net and enjoy a feed of Dungeness crab or uncork your favourite wine and settle down on a log and experience a unique West coast sunset..

After an afternoon discovering the wonders that make Galiano the ‘Gem of the Gulf Islands’….Snuggle down under a cozy duvet on a queen sized handcrafted bed with a three piece ensuite bathroom. A galley kitchen and BBQ provide everything needed to whip up light snacks or create full course meals. A free standing fireplace highlights the living room that is furnished with two quality couches, a complete entertainment centre and an extensive collection of CD’s, DVD’s, books and games.
Guests have easy access to two private decks to catch the early morning or late afternoon sun. A unique eroded sandstone beach is a short stroll away and is a beachcombers delight. Each Sticks and Stones guest is provided with a Complimentary Galiano Tourist Map which was produced by your hosts. Many hours and much research into the ‘hidden’ island delights allows us to direct you to trails, caves and beaches that we can guarantee will make your stay a ‘memorable’ one.

Rates are based on double occupancy and vary from $75 - $135
depending upon the Season and the cottage to be occupied.
Additional guests (13 years or older) pay an additional amount of $20 - $25 per night.
Reservations are recommended – we require a 7 days notice of cancellation during the High Season
(May 15-September 15).
CHECK OUT TIME is 10:30 AM – When catching an evening ferry, special arrangements
may be made, depending upon the availability of the cottage,.
The Summer months are a very busy time on Galiano and the Ferries are often reserved
to full capacity……..so ask us about leaving your car at home and using a Ford Focus to explore the island.
Less costly, less stressful and more time to enjoy the wonders of this ‘Gem of the Gulf Islands”.
